Go there in the offseason, otherwise, it’s full of people.
The lake is very popular among tourists, especially in summer. If you visit, go in the morning (the entrance opens from 9 a.m.) and during the week, not on a weekend day, otherwise it will be very crowded.
Most beautiful season is during autumn (end of October) and in winter. In winter the sun shines on the lake only until about 14:30 p.m. after that it disappears behind the mountain.
Travel Information
Best accessible by car (parking is available for free). Also possible to reach by bus from Kandersteg (the bus stop is called “Blausee BE”).
