Program mode is one of the 4 camera modes. This mode is an auto mode that lets camera decide the speed and aperture settings for the scene. It allows you to change both at the same time by using a wheel. When you will close the aperture, it will lengthen the speed. Some cameras prioritise aperture, some other prioritise speed so algorithm is going to differ between brands.
