The classic Matterhorn Picture. Other lakes reflect the Matterhorn, but this is the one you can get to without a long hike.
Photography Tips
The lake is calmest in the morning and the Matterhorn peak catches the first rays of the sun.
Make sure you are there sometime before sunrise because the reflection is also very beautiful in the starlight and you can catch the milky way as well.
Travel Information
From Zermatt you take the Gornergrat-Bahn to Riffelberg or Rothenboden. Rothenboden is closer to the spot, but the hike from Riffelberg is more scenic.
You can also stay at Riffelberg Hotel or Gornergrat Hotel.
