SMART goals is a framework that helps you to set goals and each letter stands for something

Specific - It is the state that you want to accomplish
Measurable - You need a metric that you can use to measure your progress to achieve your goal
Attainable - The goals should be realistic so you know you can achieve them in a time you want them to achieve
Relevant - Those goals need to related to what you are interested in, your needs, likes and abilities. If they do not fit within any of that, then there’s no point working on those goals, because you won’t benefit from them
Timely - You need a timeline for completion. It can be loosing 5kg of weight or finishing a chapter of a book within a month.
