Description

This Lake Powell campsite is located in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, so campsite fees and entry fees both apply. Camping was $14.00 per vehicle, see Glen Canyon website for entry fees.

The campsites are mixed from being right on the beach front, to being further back (and uphill a bit). You can essentially camp where you want, so long as you are not off the sand roads. Many ATV’s on the beach, but it is not really an off road area so people are pretty respectful of the land and it is kept in good shape.

There is a decent number of pit toilets that have flush systems, but drinking water is not available at these toilets. Toilets are scattered across the camping area. washrooms with running water are a short distance away from the camping, and do include outdoor (mild temperature) showers.

Fires are allowed but need to be kept to a decent size, and many pits are already dug and lined with rocks. Wood can be purchased at the Greenhaven Estates gas station about 3 miles from the main road entrance.

The beach is great for swimming but does not get deep very fast. Many boats put in and/or pull up right on the beach, and the majority of vehicles are larger RV’s and 5th wheels. Some spots however are pretty soft sand and people can get stuck - low clearance sports cars are NOT recommended.

Beautiful, family oriented primitively camping. Good place to be on a warm day!
