Private key is a key that is stored on a device. It is used for signing or confirming transactions that you, as the owner of the wallet are trying to do, and to confirm that you own the amount and the crypto you are trying to transfer.
Private keys never leave your wallet and they are stored on a chip. Because private key give access to do anything to anyone that has it, it is very important to not share with anyone.
