Description

Year-round viewing platform at 3131 metres above sea level. Best view of the world-famous Matterhorn and 28 other four-thousand-metre peaks.

Photography Tips

Good opportunity to catch the sunset in wintertime, as the last train down in the village leaves at about 6:30 pm.

Bring a light tele lens such as a 70-200mm along with a classical wide-angle landscape lens.

Avoid lunchtime, since the light is too hard and the place is too crowded with tourists.

Great spot for Milkyway / night photography as well!

Travel Information

Train from Zermatt Village. Rather expensive, though…
It’s also possible to sleep in the Gornergrat Hotel! (…if you can afford it…)
